It was good to be in the House of the Lord yesterday, to sing and worship with my church family and hear my pastor live and in person. I missed the hugs and handshakes, but you know the "holy wave" is not bad! Yesterday morning, I was asked why I didn't write more on the blog. The answer was pretty simple, I have been blessed so many times and so many ways, that as I begin to write yesterday, I knew I would still be writing and I had to get ready to go to church and yesterday that was one of the best blessings of all!
"Great Is Thy Faithfulness" is one of the great old hymns that I always love hearing. It is one of those, I love to hear played as an instrumental almost as much as hearing it sung. It is another one of those amazing hymns with an incredible history. Instead of me writing about the history and perhaps not tell the story as it should be told, I will provide a link. It is a short read that you may enjoy.
Even though I have heard this hymn my entire life, I think the first time it struck me was many years ago when I heard, The Cathedrals sing it on a CD where they preformed a lot of the great hymns acapella. But there are so many others I enjoy hearing it sung and played. I love hearing Kim Collingsworth and her passionate playing of "Great Is Thy Faithfulness". It's not amazing that as you scroll through You Tube, you see the many different versions of this magnificent hymn. Since I woke to the Cathedrals that will be the link I post. This is actually an earlier version than the one I remember, but i can't find that one. I hope you will enjoy!
I pray your Monday will be awesome!
