It has been a while since I heard this old hymn. It's on page 179 or the Redback Church Hymnal. It's another one of those songs I often remember hearing growing up in Church but I recall hearing The Hemphills singing often, especially on The Gospel Jubilee on Sunday mornings.
"Fill My Way With Love" was written by George W. Sebren in the late 1920's. Mr. Sebren was a singer, teacher, song writer and very influential in the early days of Southern Gospel Music.
I was thinking about the words of this song this morning and how maybe every store may need to be playing it over their sounds system today. LOL I suspect, "Black Friday" (how did it get this name?) this year may not be as crazy as it has been in the past. I remember so many of the news reports of people lined up for hours outside in the cold and rain waiting to purchase something they could not live without. And then when the store doors opened, it was a stampede, fights would break out and it was simply a mess to "kick off" the joyous Christmas season. But it's 2020, Black Friday "deals" have been going on for days, online shopping has become more prevalent so I wouldn't think the store crowds will be as crazy. But regardless of "Black Friday" or any other day, wouldn't it be wonderful if everyone's prayer would be as with this old hymn, "Fill My Way With Love"?
"Fill my way every day with love, As I walk with the heav'nly Dove; Let me go all the while with a song and a smile, Fill my way every day with love."
I pray you will have a blessed day!
