I first heard this song in 1989 when I purchased The Inspirations new CD titled "What's That I Hear". I loved this CD and it is among my favorites of the many they recorded. Chris Smith was featured on "Did You Tell Someone About Jesus" and I enjoy hearing him. Chris spent only a short time with The Inspirations but he is almost always at their reunion concerts and he will sing this song. I guess that makes this his signature song with The Inspirations.
My TV is almost always on the FOX News channel. I don't watch too many other channels or different programs and often I'm not watching the TV even when its on. I'm on the computer, reading, listening to music and I even get out of my chair sometimes to go outside. LOL But one of the things I've noticed on FOX on numerous occasions throughout the day is a commercial (perhaps not a good choice of terms, maybe a break in programming or a Public Service Announcement would be better suited) of Franklin Graham. In this video, Franklin is sharing the love of Jesus with the ones watching and how to accept Him as their Savior. How refreshing to hear "The Good News" instead of if I call now I can receive an extra one with just additional shipping charges.
Yesterday, I took my daily (well almost) walk and I took the same route I've been taking recently. I like this route as there are not as many hills to climb. LOL But this is where I get to pass by the big beautiful brown Doberman (fenced) that likes to bark. I did not see the young lady yesterday that spoke a couple of days ago, but the dog barked loudly. I think in my previous post I said this lady had a sweet spirit and it was a nice gesture to quieten her dog so I could enjoy my walk. Well, as I walked by yesterday, I still felt that same sweet spirit and didn't see anyone (other than the dog) but on my return trip back by the house, I noticed a cross in the front yard. Not one put up for Easter, but you can tell it is there permanently. Silently, there's a sweet spirit around that home that is telling those who pass about Jesus.
I have mentioned often how much I miss work and all the people I would see daily. I went into a lot of homes and almost every home had financial, physical or spiritual needs. I was suppose to be talking about insurance (and I did) but what a joy it was to be able to share about Jesus and what He has meant to me in my life. One of my favorite old hymns is "I Love To Tell The Story". Since I got sick, when I'm out an about now, my oxygen machine often gets a little attention, questions are asked and it makes it easy to tell the story of Jesus. When is this isolation going to be over so I can get back out and talk? LOL
The Bible teaches us to tell our story. To be a witness of what God has done in our lives. We should be eager to tell others about salvation and how they can accept and trust Jesus in their lives. (I mentioned Franklin Graham and that break in programming it was just on again.)
Ok, I guess I have rambled long enough. I'm getting texts wondering where's the post so I will close. My sermon is running over the time limit. LOL I hope you will enjoy the song I woke up to this morning.
I hope you have a happy Friday!
