As I'm sure you do, I loved Sunday School at an early age. I remember the Bible Stories being shared. I loved hearing about Moses, Noah, David, Jonah, Daniel and others. I also remember going to our pediatrician's office and in the waiting room was a large hardbound book, titled "Bible Stories" . I remember it's illustrated cover with a picture of Jesus with His arms outstretched for two children. Of course, I don't go to see a pediatrician any more (LOL) but something tells me a Bible Story book is no longer in their waiting rooms. These stories I learned as a child taught me a lot about these great individuals and their faith, their Godly obedience, their patience, their enduring spirit, their thankfulness and many other virtues we could all use in these often trying times of today.
Perhaps these Bible Stories I heard as a young child made me always enjoy the songs where the words were about them. "You have heard of little Moses in the bulrush, you have heard of little David and his sling", "there's Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego into the fiery furnace were thrown", "Joshua, marched seven times around" are the words of 3 songs that come to mind but I could go on and on.
A couple of months ago, Brother John, conducted a series of Bible Studies on Daniel that focused on his praying. During those weeks, I thought about the song "Daniel Prayed" and just knew I would wake up hearing it one of those mornings but it didn't happen until this morning. If you listen to it today, I'm sure you will recognize one of the obvious reasons I love it. I think about it as a quartet song that often features the bass singer. LOL But as many songs as I have sung over the years, I have never sung this one, except in the car when it came on the radio. You are welcome (with a smile).
I pray you will enjoy hearing "Daniel Prayed" today as much I enjoyed waking up with it this morning!
Wishing you a terrific Tuesday!
