By The Blood Of The Lamb

This morning I woke to a song I listened to millions of times (perhaps a slight exaggeration) but certainly one I loved. It was another one of those songs I listened to in the car traveling back and forth to work. I also remember, as I had not long moved back to the Atlanta area and into a new apartment and bought a new stereo. I suspect the neighbors may have known this song as well as I did.

"By The Blood Of The Lamb" was written by Sydney Coble. The Cobles served in their home church in Colleridge, NC before entering the full time music ministry. For over 40 years they ministered in churches throughout the Southeast. Earlier this year, Rev. Coble retired as the Music Minister and Associate Pastor of Central Baptist Church in Kannpolis, NC where he served for 26 years. His songs have been recorded by several of the notable Southern Gospel Music artist such as The Hoppers, The McKameys and The Inspirations. (Guess who I woke up hearing)

In 1988, The Inspirations released the album, "Yes, I Will Be There". The very first song was "By The Blood Of The Lamb" and it caught my attention and heart. It was one of those moving songs, I loved listening to in the car or at home, but to me, there was nothing like hearing them in person. It was such a heart felt song. It was not unusual for them to sing it for quite a while. Often, Martin (the pianist) would be walking around rejoicing and enjoying the song as the quartet poured all they had into singing it.

I pray you will enjoy listening to my song of the morning! I hope you will have a great Saturday!
