How many times, do you go through a day and as the day go on you begin to think that weight of the world is resting on your shoulders? We receive a phone call from a family member telling us about something that has happened. Your phone dings with a text. You view your Facebook posts and can’t believe all you see. You open up your email and there’s a message you were not expecting. Then you turn on the news.
There is so much that we are exposed to each day that can weigh us down with problems, concerns, troubles, trials, sickness and death. But aren’t you glad that we have someone who is very near that will bring us comfort and peace and lift that weight off our shoulders? And that someone is Jesus. He went to Calvary to carry and lift the burdens we face in our lives.
I love this song, “Burdens Are Lifted At Calvary”. It was one of the first songs I learned singing as a young teenager with the boy’s quartet. It is one that was requested regularly and we sang it often. The words have stayed with me all these years and I’m thankful!
I hope you will be blessed hearing The Collingsworth Family. I pray you will have a blessed day and let’s all pray for our Sunday services this morning!
