Yesterday was a great day to be in the house of the Lord! A sweet song service and a powerful message by Brother John. I'm glad, when I was lost, my life mattered and The Good Shepherd saved me. All lives mattered to Jesus as he came to seek and to save ALL and there is rejoicing in heaven when a lost soul is saved. How about with us? Are we like The Shepherd and work to find the lost? And when they are saved, do we "take them on our shoulders" and rejoice as the parable teaches us? Brother John, thank you for the message yesterday.
The song service started yesterday with the singing of "Blessed Assurance". My Monday morning started with "Blessed Assurance". Absolutely one of my favorite hymns. I scrolled through my morning song posts as I thought surely I have woke up to the old hymn previously. But to my surprise, I did not find where I had. I suspect I thought this as I have told the story so many times of "Blessed Assurance" being sung at Dad's funeral and it coming to my mind as I was riding in the ambulance from the ER to ICU.
"Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood
Chorus: This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long; This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long.
Perfect submission, perfect delight, Visions of rapture now burst on my sight; Angels, descending, bring from above Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love."
A perfect way to start my day with that "Blessed Assurance, Jesus Is Mine"! I hope it will be a good start to your day also!
