"After the sunrise, happy we'll be - we know
After the sunrise, Jesus we'll see - in heaven
All will be glory, singing the story
After the sunrise, how happy we'll be!"
I believe I have woke to this old song before but it has been quite some time. This is one of those old convention type songs that it's hard not to pat your foot when you hear it.
"After The Sunrise" was written by James R. Baxter, affectionately known as "Pap". He joined Virgil Stamps in the mid 1920's to form the Stamps-Baxter Music Publishing Company and were among the most influential individuals in Gospel Music over the years. Mr. Baxter was born on Sand Mountain, Alabama. I'm sometimes amazed at the number of Gospel Music singers and songwriters that have come from there and surrounding areas of Alabama. If I'm not mistaken, "Pap" Baxter is also known for writing "Farther Along", "I'm Living In Canaan Now", "When He Blessed My Soul", "I Love My Savior Too" and others.
I hope you will enjoy hearing "After The Sunrise" today!
I pray you have an amazing Monday!
