"After the sunrise, happy we'll be - we know
After the sunrise, Jesus we'll see - in heaven
All will be glory, singing the story
After the sunrise, how happy we'll be!"
A few days ago, I woke about a song written by James. R. Baxter also known as "Pap". Pap Baxter was very influential in the early days of Southern Gospel music. Pap became interested in music at an early age and about age 40, he bought into The Virgil Stamps Music coming becoming the Stamps-Baxter Music and Printing company which became one of the most successful Gospel Music publishers in the 20th century. Pap Baxter has also been credited with writing many great gospel songs. "After The Sunrise" is one of those that has been sung an recorded over the years including the Chuck Wagon Gang, High Fidelity, The Kingsmen, The Inspirations and others.
I love the old convention type songs. It's hard not to pat your foot a little as you listen to this old song. I hope you will be blessed hearing it today!
I pray you will have a great Saturday!
