I don't recall when I first heard this song. I remember hearing The Inspirations singing it on their first live recording, "A Night Of Inspiration". That was in 1976 as I remember and I believe that was perhaps the first and last "live recording" of an album I ever attended. I remember The Inspirations singing "Jesus Is Mine" on Gospel Jubilee on many Sunday mornings. It was a very popular song that many of the southern gospel quartets recorded and sung during their concerts. On a lot of occasions, The Inspirations still will include it include it as one of the songs they will sing.
Most mornings, I will say, this song is one of my favorites. Now sit down and get ready for this. This was not one of my favorites for some reason. Yet, it was for many others and during concerts, it would be a song a group would sing and sing some more. The concert attendees loved it and could not get enough.
But over the years, I have come to enjoy hearing it! I remember a couple of weeks ago, I was listening to the "young" Inspirations during a livestream service and they sang "Jesus Is Mine". It was a delight to hear it and think about hearing this song over the years. I think I just came up with another joy of getting older. A song I use to not enjoy that much, I do today.
And I enjoyed waking up hearing it this morning. I pray you will enjoy hearing it today also!
